Job Description: Manager – Electrical (Commercial / IT Office Projects)
The Manager – Electrical is responsible for overseeing complete electrical installations, coordination, quality control, and commissioning for Grade-A commercial buildings and IT office developments. The role ensures adherence to design standards, safety compliance, timely execution, and seamless integration of electrical systems with MEP, HVAC, IBMS, and building operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design Review & Planning
Review electrical design drawings, load calculations, SLDs, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
Provide electrical inputs for planning, procurement schedules, sequencing, and constructability reviews.
Coordinate requirements for HT/LT substations, DG yards, UPS rooms, and riser planning.
2. Site Execution & Supervision
Lead execution of electrical systems:
HT/LT panels, RMUs, transformers
DG sets, UPS systems
Cabling, earthing, lighting, and control panels
ELV systems (CCTV, access control, PA, fire alarm, data)
Ensure installation as per approved drawings, IS codes, NBC norms, and K Raheja Corp quality standards.
Conduct site inspections, method statement reviews, and quality audits.
3. IT Office–Specific Electrical Integration
Oversee electrical readiness for:
Large office floor plates
Server rooms, IDF/MDF rooms
High-density workstation layouts
Precision cooling & IT equipment loads
Coordinate electrical interfaces with HVAC, IBMS, elevators, façade, and fire systems.
4. Testing, Commissioning & Quality Control
Lead testing: insulation resistance, earthing, high-voltage testing, load testing, functionality checks.
Manage commissioning of transformers, DG sets, UPS, DBs, and ELV systems.
Ensure documentation of test reports, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
5. Vendor, Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination
Manage electrical contractors and specialist vendors.
Coordinate with design consultants, MEP, planning, procurement, PMC, and operations teams.
Conduct weekly review meetings and prepare progress status reports.
6. Compliance, Safety & Statutory Approvals
Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, HSE norms, and statutory requirements (CEIG, DISCOM, etc.).
Support approvals for HT/LT installations, fire safety, and energy compliance (IGBC/LEED where applicable).
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
10–15 years of experience in commercial/IT parks, business campuses, or high-rise commercial projects.
Strong technical knowledge of HT/LT distribution, UPS, DGs, ELV, IBMS, and electrical safety standards.
Experience working with large developers or tier-1 MEP contractors preferred.
