Position: Deputy General Manager – Projects Engineering
Role Purpose
The Deputy General Manager – Projects Engineering will lead the engineering, execution, and delivery of large-scale commercial IT park projects, ensuring world-class quality, adherence to timelines, optimized costs, and compliance with statutory and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Lead execution of commercial IT park projects from mobilization to handover.
Ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, budgets, and master schedules.
Coordinate with planning, design, contracts, MEP, QA/QC, and safety teams.
Engineering & Technical Leadership
Oversee engineering for civil, structural, façade, interiors coordination, and MEP services.
Review and approve construction methodologies, shop drawings, and mock-ups.
Resolve complex technical and constructability issues.
Drive value engineering without compromising quality or performance.
MEP & Specialized Systems Coordination
Ensure seamless integration of HVAC, electrical, LV systems, fire fighting, IBMS, and sustainability systems.
Coordinate with MEP consultants and specialists for data centers, IT infrastructure, and high-load office spaces.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and system integration.
Quality, Safety & Statutory Compliance
Ensure adherence to international and local standards applicable to IT parks.
Enforce safety standards and HSE compliance across all sites.
Coordinate statutory approvals, inspections, and compliance with local authorities.
Cost, Time & Risk Management
Monitor progress against baseline schedules and budgets.
Identify risks, delays, and cost overruns and drive mitigation plans.
Coordinate with contracts & billing teams for cash flow, certifications, and forecasting.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Interface with clients, tenants, consultants, and senior leadership.
Support tenant fit-outs and handover coordination.
Represent the organization in key project review meetings.
Team Leadership & Governance
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project engineering teams.
Drive best practices, SOPs, and continuous improvement.
Ensure robust documentation, reporting, and audit readiness.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification
BE / BTech in Civil Engineering
Postgraduate qualification in Construction / Project Management preferred
Experience
18–25 years of experience in execution of large commercial IT parks / corporate office developments.
Proven track record in delivering multi-building campuses, basements, and high-rise office towers.
Experience with reputed developers or PMC firms preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in commercial construction methodologies.
In-depth knowledge of MEP systems and IT park infrastructure.
Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in planning tools, ERP systems, and reporting dashboards.
Strong risk management and decision-making abilities.
