Role Overview

The Assistant Manager – Estimation is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, technical evaluations, and tender submissions for various construction/MEP/civil/fit-out works. The role ensures competitive pricing, alignment with project specifications, and supports cost control during project execution.

Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Quantity Take-Offs

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, MEP and interior drawings.

Analyze drawings, BOQs, specifications, tender documents and identify scope, risks, and constraints.

Prepare cost estimates for civil, MEP, finishes, infrastructure and associated works.

2. Rate Analysis & Costing

Perform rate analysis for materials, labor and machinery based on market data.

Develop project cost sheets, preliminary budgets, and detailed project costing.

Compare vendor quotations, negotiate rates, and finalize cost benchmarks.

3. Tendering & Documentation

Prepare tender BOQs, pricing sheets, and commercial bid submissions.

Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams for technical clarifications.

Ensure timely submission of tenders with complete documentation.

4. Vendor Management

Evaluate vendor/contractor quotations and prepare techno-commercial comparisons.

Support vendor finalization, price negotiations and contract recommendations.

5. Coordination & Support

Work closely with project managers, site teams and consultants for cost alignment.

Assist in value engineering, proposing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.

Support cost monitoring, budget tracking and variation claims during execution.

Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, Planswift / CostX / estimation software (preferred).

Understanding of construction/MEP materials, rates, specifications and market trends.

Good communication, negotiation and vendor coordination skills.

Ability to work under tight timelines and handle multiple tenders simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.

4–7 years of experience in estimation, costing, QS or tendering (construction/MEP/real estate industry).

Experience with Residential, commercial/IT parks, high-rise buildings, or large-scale projects preferred.
