Position: Assistant General Manager – Contracts & Billing
Role Purpose

The Assistant General Manager – Contracts & Billing will lead and oversee end-to-end contract administration, billing, and commercial management for large-scale real estate projects. The role ensures cost control, contractual compliance, timely billing, and strong governance across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
Contracts & Commercial Management

Lead pre-contract and post-contract activities including tendering, negotiations, contract finalization, and amendments.

Oversee preparation and review of BOQs, scopes of work, rate analysis, and contract conditions.

Manage variations, extra items, claims, and dispute resolution.

Ensure strict adherence to contractual, statutory, and company policies.

Billing & Cash Flow Management

Oversee certification of contractor RA bills and final bills.

Ensure timely billing, certification, and coordination with finance for payments.

Monitor cash flow, advances, recoveries, retention, and outstanding bills.

Review billing MIS and resolve escalated billing issues.

Cost Control & Budgeting

Monitor project costs against approved budgets and control deviations.

Analyze cost impact due to design changes, delays, or scope variations.

Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.

Provide commercial inputs during project planning and execution stages.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Lead and mentor contracts and billing teams across projects.

Coordinate with project, design, planning, procurement, and finance teams.

Interface with consultants, contractors, and senior management.

Support management decision-making through accurate commercial reporting.

Governance, Documentation & Reporting

Ensure robust documentation and audit-ready contract and billing records.

Prepare and review MIS reports, dashboards, and management summaries.

Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance.

Drive process improvements and standardization across projects.

Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification

BE / BTech in Civil Engineering

MBA / PG Diploma in Construction Management / Finance preferred

Experience

15–20 years of experience in contracts, billing, and commercial management.

Strong exposure to large real estate projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use).

Experience with reputed real estate developers preferred.

Strong expertise in construction contracts and billing.

Excellent commercial acumen and cost control skills.

Proven leadership and team management abilities.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle) and MS Excel.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
