Role Purpose:

The GM – Safety will oversee the implementation of safety standards, compliance, and risk management across all residential real estate projects. This role acts as a key link between the VP and project teams, ensuring consistent execution of safety policies and driving a culture of safety throughout the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Policy Implementation & Compliance

    • Execute safety policies and procedures as defined by the VP.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, building codes, and industry standards across all sites.
  2. Monitoring & Reporting

    • Track safety performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for the VP.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  3. Risk Assessment & Mitigation

    • Support risk assessments for new and ongoing projects.
    • Implement preventive measures and emergency response plans in coordination with site teams.
  4. Coordination & Support

    • Act as the central point of contact for safety-related queries from project sites.
    • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure adherence to safety norms.
  5. Training & Awareness

    • Organize safety training programs for employees and contractors.
    • Promote safety awareness campaigns and initiatives across the organization.
  6. Incident Management

    • Oversee investigation of incidents and near misses; ensure timely reporting and closure of corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Safety Management; certifications in safety (NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred.
  • 25+ years of experience in safety management, with at least 5–10 years in a head office within real estate or construction.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and emergency preparedness.
