JD – Financial Controller 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Financial Management & Oversight:

  • Accounting & Compliance:
    • Oversee all accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, including tax laws and audit requirements.
  • Taxation:
    • Oversee direct and indirect taxation for the entire organization.
    • Ensure compliance with all tax filing and reporting requirements.
    • Manage tax planning, including tax optimization strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Project Accounting:
    • Supervise the financial tracking and reporting for capital projects.
    • Monitor the budget, costs, and timelines for projects under development or renovation within the mall portfolio.
  • MIS Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of management information reports to senior leadership.
    • Ensure accurate, insightful, & actionable reporting on key financial & operational metrics.
    • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
    • Analyze financial data to support decision-making, identifying risks, opportunities, and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Operational Finance & Mall Finance Management:
    • Oversee financial operations at mall locations, ensuring efficient financial control.
    • Manage the mall finance team and ensure all financial procedures and processes are followed for revenue tracking, cost management, and reporting.
  • Billing, Collections, & Recovery:
    • Oversee billing operations, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely collection of payments.
    • Implement strategies for improving cash flow, collections, and debt recovery.
  • Internal Audit:
    • Supervise the internal audit function, ensuring a robust control environment.
    • Facilitates audits to evaluate the efficiency & effectiveness of financial controls & systems.

2. Team Leadership & cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a diverse finance team of 20 professionals, including CAs.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture within the finance team.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments (e.g., operations, legal, and sales) to ensure alignment of financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Ensure clear communication and seamless coordination between finance and other departments, particularly in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

4. Technology & Process Improvement:

  • Oversee the implementation of technology solutions across the finance function, including ERP systems, financial software, and automation tools.
  • Lead process optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
