Reporting To: Mall Operations Head
Job Purpose:
To oversee and ensure effective implementation, maintenance, and compliance of all fire safety systems and protocols in the mall premises. The role is responsible for preventing fire hazards, ensuring readiness of fire protection systems, conducting drills and inspections, and coordinating with local fire authorities when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Safety Systems Management:
Supervise the maintenance and operation of all fire fighting systems (e.g., fire hydrants, sprinklers, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, fire pumps, etc.)
Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire safety equipment.
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements related to fire safety (as per NBC, local fire norms).
Preventive Measures & Audits:
Conduct fire safety audits and risk assessments across all areas of the mall.
Identify potential fire hazards and recommend/implement corrective actions.
Maintain all documentation related to fire audits, licenses, and NOCs.
Emergency Preparedness & Drills:
Develop and implement emergency response and evacuation plans.
Organize periodic fire drills and evacuation training for mall staff, tenants, and security personnel.
Act as the point of contact during any fire or emergency situation.
Coordination & Training:
Coordinate with security teams and maintenance teams to ensure integrated safety operations.
Liaise with local fire department and ensure necessary fire NOC renewals
Train mall staff and tenants on fire safety awareness and usage of firefighting equipment.
Vendor & AMC Management:
Manage third-party vendors responsible for AMC of fire systems.
Review and verify vendor performance, service reports, and upkeep of system health.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of fire safety norms, NBC guidelines, and local fire regulations.
Experience in handling fire detection and suppression systems.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
Proficiency in preparing reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
Diploma / Degree in Fire & Safety Engineering / Industrial Safety / related field.
Certification from a recognized Fire Safety Institute is a plus.
Knowledge of NFPA / IS standards preferred.
Experience:
4–6 years of experience in fire safety and fire fighting system management.
Experience in managing fire safety for large commercial spaces such as malls, hotels, or hospitals is preferred.
